Life is busy. Between work, school, social life, and personal goals, adding church to the schedule might seem unnecessary. But here’s why it’s not just important—it’s life-changing.
Your faith is like a muscle—it grows when you use it. Church provides consistent teaching, worship, and fellowship that strengthen your relationship with God. It’s a place to be reminded of His love and purpose for your life.
We were never meant to do life alone. The church is more than a building; it’s a family. It’s where you’ll find people who genuinely care about you, who pray for you, and who can walk with you through life’s ups and downs.
There’s something powerful about gathering with others to worship. Whether through music, prayer, or hearing God's Word, being in church allows you to experience God’s presence in a unique and powerful way.
It’s easy to drift in faith when you’re isolated. Church keeps you grounded, reminding you of Biblical truth and helping you stay accountable in your walk with Christ. You’ll be surrounded by people who encourage you to live out your faith boldly.
Church isn’t just about receiving—it’s also about giving. Being involved in a church gives you opportunities to serve, mentor, and make a difference in the lives of others. Whether through missions, community outreach, or simply being a friend to someone in need, your presence matters.
Life comes with big decisions—career, relationships, identity, and purpose. Church provides wisdom, Biblical teaching, and Godly mentors to help you navigate these challenges with faith and confidence.
Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to neglect gathering together as believers. God designed the church as a place where we can grow, serve, and be transformed. Being part of a local church is an act of obedience that blesses your life.
Going to church isn’t about checking a religious box—it’s about deepening your relationship with God, surrounding yourself with faith-filled community, and living out your purpose.
We believe that life with God is the best life; come find out for yourself.
St. Timothy's offers an engaging worship experience for those seeking to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
While there are many options when it comes to choosing a church, these unique features set us apart:
Convenient Location and Time.:
Our services are held right on the University of Connecticut campus at St. Mark's Chapel.. This convenient location makes it easily accessible whether or not you have a car. And with a 4 pm service time, you can enjoy a slow and relaxing start to your Sunday.
Welcoming Young Adult Community
Our community is warm, welcoming, and excited to walk alongside you on your spiritual journey. We are largely a congregation of young adults, including undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates, so if you've been feeling along and isolated in your faith, come find like-minded young adults who want to follow Jesus with you.
Engaging Worship
Our worship style is engaging and participatory. Rather than talking at you during the sermon, we use interactive and engaging teaching to help you listen to God for yourself and help you better understand His words of encouragement and guidance. We also provide opportunities to ask questions or share your own experiences throughout the service.
Opportunities for Spiritual Growth
We take spiritual growth seriously and want to help you deepen and strengthen your relationship with God. Free spiritual direction is available to everyone who is interested in sorting through their faith struggles, questions, and doubts.
Join us on a Sunday afternoon and see if St. Timothy's could be your new church home.
When you walk through the doors of the chapel, you’ll find a welcoming community, contemporary music, interactive teaching, and time for prayers and blessings.
Our service starts with acoustic worship, followed by a time of teaching and personal reflection, then we celebrate communion together, spend time in prayer, and close by singing some final songs.
We are a casual community so most people come in jeans, although dressier styles are always welcome.
Children are always welcome in the service, although currently we do not offer a specific children's ministry.
Our Services
During the semester, we meet at St. Mark's Chapel, which is right on campus across from the Chemistry Building. There is plenty of parking behind the church and street parking right in front of the church as well.
