Our Services

During the semester, we meet at St. Mark's Chapel, which is  right on campus across from the Chemistry Building. There is plenty of parking behind the church and street parking right in front of the church as well.

Sundays @ 4 pm

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and
self-control.

-2 Timothy 1:7

  • During the academic year (August to May), we meet on Sunday afternoons at 4 pm at St. Mark's Chapel.

St. Mark's is located on 42 North Eagleville Road Storrs, CT 06268, right across the street from Swan Lake and the Chemistry Building.

  • If you're coming by car, there is convenient parking on the street in front of St. Mark's or in the parking lot behind the church.

Because of our convenient location right on UConn's campus, you are also an easy walk from most dorms and campus buildings.

Our building is wheel chair accessible from the parking lot and there is an elevator to take visitors from the ground level to the second floor of the building, where the chapel is located.

  • Expect a welcoming and thoughtful community rooted in tradition and open to the Spirit. We are non-denominational and everyone is welcome to participate fully, regardless of where you are on your faith journey or your denominational background.

Our service usually lasts between 60-75 minutes. We start with acoustic worship, followed by a time of teaching and personal reflection, then we celebrate communion together, spend time in prayer, and close with more acoustic worship.

Come as you are. We are a casual community so most people come in jeans (or sometimes sweatpants), although dressier styles are always welcome.

We love having children in the service, although currently we do not offer a specific children's ministry.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and
self-control.

2 Timothy 1:7

As we worship together, we believe that God will transform your stress into peace, your disappointments into hope, and your worries into prayers.

Because we believe that life with God is the best life.

Ash Wednesday -
A Reflection on mortality and repentance

Secondary Title

An Ash Wednesday service is a short, simple service of reflection and repentance that marks the beginning of Lent.

As the service leader marks you with the sign of the cross on your forehead, s/he reminds you: "From dust you came and to dust you shall return. Repent and believe in the gospel"

Wearing the cross on your forehead throughout the day is a public, visible sign of your repentant heart. It shows the world that you have turned away from your sins and your life has been forever marked by Christ.

If you'd like to participate in an Ash Wednesday service, there are several on campus on Wednesday March 6th:

St. Mark's Episcopal Ash Wednesday Services: noon and 7 pm

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Ash Wednesday Services: 12:20 and 4 pm

Storrs Congregational Church Ash Wednesday Services: 12:15 and 7 pm
